Tips on finding a caterer

Choosing a reputable caterer can be overwhelming So how do you choose the right one?  Here are some tips for locating a caterer for you:

Research: Do some research by asking family, friends, coworkers,etc. for leads on caterers they might have used. Ask them if they were happy with the service and if the food and if the food and presentation  were satisfactory. Did the caterer show particular interest in what they were trying to accomplish? Did they answer all questions pertaining to the food they prepared?  All of these are important questions to ask when selecting a caterer.
Also, look for online reviews of the caterers you are considering. You'd be surprised at what you can find by doing some internet research.

Budget: Before you meet with any prospective caterers, make sure you have an idea of what you plan to spend. You can research the internet for catering fees which are usually based on a per person flat rate.

Venues: If you plan to user a venue for your event, make sure the venue does not have a a stipulation in its agreement that forces you to use their caterers or approved vendors. This can severly limit your options!

Meet and Greet: Be sure and meet with your prospective caters in person. Ask specific questions about time it will tkae for them to serve from start to finish, what if any money they want upfront, and make sure you ask questions about any deposits or fees theymay tack on to the final bill. also ask about any fees associated with the serving of alcohol.

Licenses and insurance: Make sure your caterer has all applicable licenses and insurance. The last thing you need to worry about is if they have these!
